General Description

The Pie Plate bakery cafe is located in the heart of Virgil in an old house built by George Lawerence in the early 1800's.(The village of Virgil used to be called Lawerenceville.) The wrap around porch and original wooden door along with the wide plank wood floors give it a real hometown bakery feel.
Across the street is an old church that houses a european antique store.
Above the Pie Plate, accessible by a stairway and landing that overlooks the Virgil School grounds, is a quaint self sufficient apartment. A full kitchen with an antique cast iron sink and handpainted rooster on the wall, a bedroom with a queen bed and antique furniture, a large sitting room with a leather couch and antique rug on the pine wood floors and an antique day bed for extra sleeping space. The bathroom has the modern luxury of a whirlpool tub and a skylight.

There is no breakfast served, although you will wake to the smell of homemade cinnamon buns baking and a quick trip downstairs to gather your fresh baked goods and cappacinno will be easy, or if you prefer you can brew your own coffee in the kitchen at your leasure.
