NIAGARA SPANISH AERO CAR
Located 4.5 kilometres down the River from the Falls, where the narrowest channel in the Gorge is located. Leonardo Torres Quevedo (a Spanish engineer) designed and built the car, and has been operating since 1916.
The view from the Spanish aero car is breathtaking as you can see the Rapids, Whirlpool, the Gorge, and the Hydroelectric plants down river. The Niagara Spanish Aero Car crosses over 539 metres (1,770 ft.) and 76.2 metres (250 ft.) above the churning Whirlpool Rapids, between two points on the Canadian shore. Open from mid-May to mid-October.
